Santa Rosa Beach
is located in the Northwest Panhandle region known as the Emerald Coast. The weather generally is warm year round. The Panhandle region receives the most rain of any place in the state of Florida. However, many of these showers and thunderstorms pass quickly and the sunshine prevails. Tropical winds from the south, along with the abundant rain, create hot, humid conditions May through September. The rest of the year is much more comfortable, with mild days and cool nights, less humidity and less rain. Hurricane season officially lasts August through October, but most of these storms blow into the Atlantic and miss Florida entirely. In the case when one does reach shore, ample warming time is given for these types of storms.
